Dresslinks Wishlist

Frothy tulle skirts and delicate blooms drift by me drawing me into their tantalising world of delight, sugary pinks and baby blues splattered onto jackets and shoes, from retro to 50's right through to the modern day each trend is ticked off, to the chime of a hip-hip hooray. Shoes dance near me imploring me to come closer, skirts huddle closer like the feathers of a peacock. Polka dot, floral and white roses too, my fantasy is a reality just come true. So gather round springbots and hear me loud and clear, like a scene out of a fairytale, the attractive whiff of clothing is here.I stumble into a world of candyfloss and glitter, clothes circling me with a message to come nearer. Imagine my surprise as they whisper into my ear, who else could it be but Dresslinks they said? Dazed and confused I wander to discover more, at such cheap prices why had I not heard of them before?

Today I would like to to talk to you about Dress Links, an online shopping destination inspired by the ever-changing climate of fashion trends. From delicate floral blooms to andrognous layering the Korean retailer knows what women want. Each market owner has spent years perfecting its online range to remain timeless when trends come and go. The attraction is simple; why spend more when Dresslinks offers you the same quality for less? In the modern age we are obsessed with designer brands, hoping that an iconic label will automatically up our status quo when in reality we are paying for a label rather than a status gain. I grew up not quite poor and not quite rich with the 'stereotypical' mannerisms of a 'posh girl' as I was so lovingly called at school. Because of my posh accent and the way that I behaved children used to stick their nose up at me and make fun of what I wore because it was not the latest 'Gucci bag' or the right pair of shoes. Why should our fashion choices be determined by others when we have the freedom-with and without money- to transcend fashion boundaries?

Dresslinks understands that fashion is multi-faceted; it's not about the price tag but how you wear it. The key is to pick classic items that automatically look a 'million dollars' such as midi skirts, cat-eye sunglasses, a neutral trench coat and stilettos.Dress Links three step ethos is simple:

1. Quality- Dress Links is passionate about creating affordable fashion that can make you look beyond the designer price tag and try something new. Just because a product is affordable does not make it any less valuable than a higher priced item. Even if I was earning a lot of money I would still shop high street brands because how could I justify spending a thousand pounds on a coat that would be deemed as unfashionable next season?

2. Quantity- Dresslinks is a famed exporter that delivers clothing to countries such as Poland and Egypt and holds trading links with other companies. As a result there is a wide choice of clothing to suit all styles and tastes. My favourite section was the sunglasses but more on that later!

3. Interaction- learn to co-operate with your consumers and in return they will shape the trends that feature on your site. Dress links desire to connect with the shopping community is what largely drives its sales and impenetrable success.

When I was asked to review their products I leapt up with joy at discovering a new brand that produced high quality items for a minimal price. As a bargain hunter I scour the internet for bargains that a poor little student like me can afford! My initial attraction to the global brand was piqued when they addressed me as a 'fashion icon' and from that moment I was drawn to take a closer insight into the magical world that DressLinks had to offer. I scoured their site for hours on end openly drooling over the gorgeous array of skirts, playsuits and of course sunglasses which I have an obsession with at this moment. A girl can never have too many sunglasses can she?! I was allowed to choose two items which I can not reveal until the items arrive but you are in for a treat trust me.Bursting with anticipation I was asked to create a wishlist of items that I would like to purchase should another collaboration with the brand arise. So lo and behold let the wishlist begin.

Inspired by the glamourous 50's the midi skirt creates a juxtaposition between dark and light blooms replicating the high drama of a period famed for its scandals. Like me the skirt is a dual edged sword- both feminine and aggressively determined to succeed, the skirt shows that you should never judge a book by a cover. Its flirtatious nature is unparrelled and will make you look elegant no matter the occassion. Midi skirts are a timeless capsule choice that flits in and out of trend like there is no tomorrow. What I love about this midi skirt is the silk fabric that luxuriously caresses your skin like a whisper of a forgotten lover. A delicious scent of blooms permeate the air and the fallen grey blooms replicate the rise and the fall of the old and new Ana. I am the pink rose bursting into bloom shedding by weary grey skin, free of judgement, past the point of caring. The old Ana would be hurt a stinging pain spreading across her chest, frantic tears brimming at the corner of her eyes. The new Ana is a warrior who draws strength from her vunerability to shed her second skin.

2. Floral Cami

Synonmous with the image of a tropical garden, the light shift cami is perfect for those restless summer nights, dreaming of a forbidden lover. Pair with seperates for a polished work vibe or accessorize to the max for a summertime night look. The delicate blooms are colourful juxtaposed against the clean crisp white background and comes in two colours: blue and pink.

3. Red Lace Crop Top

Flirtatious yet demure this crop top is suitable to all tastes. With its peekaboo lace crochet finish, the ravishing red hue will turn heads as you walk by. The boxy silhouette widens the shoulders to create an impressive physique that will accentuate your muscles. Lace is an equisite fabric that can be dressed up or down depending on personal preferences.

4. The Navy Pinstripe Playsuit

Playsuits are a wardrobe must-have and are best worn on a warm summers day. Grab your suncream and hit the beach for the perfect tan to compliment your striking playsuit. With it's v-neck/halterneck tailoring and its culotte shorts you can look stylish and feel comfortable in what you wear!

5. The Floral Blazer

Combining the sophisticated elegance of a rose garden with modern tailoring, the assymetrical blazer is an exotic explosion of colour. The watercolour layering deliciously blends into teal blue the colour of a crystal clear ocean and transports you back into a simpler time. Like the digital print trend the watercolour print is cutting edge and unafraid of any obstacles that block its path.

6. The Sunglasses Edit

My favourite section of the site was the sunglasses, begging for my seal of approval. In a range of colours and lens the sunglasses are remarkably cheap and are created to target all women. Pictured above are my two personal favourites; the round lens sunglasses are both retro and futuristic , using an ombre matte finish whereas the cat-eye sunglasses are a replica of the glamorous 50's.

The Question Is What Would You Choose?
