Black Friday Haul
'Lustless materialism engineered out of automated need,
Souless searching for unburdened desires,
Crawling termites seeking validation,
Postmodern thinking rejecting reality,
Blurring boundaries between desire and need
we fall into the crowded turmoil of a lost materialists soul'
Black Friday is an American national holiday that occurs a day after Thanksgiving and coincides with its sister event 'Cyber Monday. The historical context behind Black Friday is brief but is thought to have originated or been founded in the 1960's after society dictated that it signified the 'unofficial' beginning of the Christmas holiday season. Often employee's bosses give them long weekends to pre-boost Christmas shopping sales and to increase financial revenue by reducing the prices of many coveted items. In recent years Black Friday has influenced the British public and this year many participating retailers slashed up to 70% off on all items, with many blogger 'must-haves' selling out in minutes.
This year I brought myself some reduced items that I had been lusting after and unlike most consumers was not buying it because it was Black Friday but because I could finally afford the items on sale which I had been coveting for months. From Faux Fur to must have nail varnishes my Black Friday Haul will leave you begging for more.
