Summer's In With Type The Hype

Imagine a personalized box made especially for you, stacked high with goodies, gifts and samples from all your favourite brands. But this is not just any box, this is Type The Hype's box. A feast for the senses, TTH has the ingredients of a subscription box, with luscious skin food sachets, glorious Graze flapjacks that melt in your mouth and the ever favourite Miscellar Water from Elemis begging to clear up your skin. While at first glance TTH might appear to be your typical subscription box you better believe that it is not because this beauty is is entirely exclusive to approved bloggers like myself. No two boxes are the same and the 'discovery' box truly allows you to explore and dive headfirst into summer lovin'. For me, summers by the pool sipping on mocktails wouldn't be the same without some gorgeous branded goodies and what better way to make the most of our 'summer' ( England I am looking at you!) than through a delicious assortment of treats for your skin, your soul and your mind? One thing is for certain, summer's in with Type The Hype!

Now, I realize the irony of my words, as the rain hammers at my window, protesting at my mention of 'summer' but hey you gotta fake it until you can make it right? So here I am visualizing a blissful summer by the poolside, when Type The Hype pops up and asks me if I would like a personalized box with 'me in mind' and what other answer than 'yes, triple times yes' could I give? Everyone who knows me is tuned into the fact that I am obsessed with 'surprises' so to have a box that is unique to me was a summer treat worth 'fighting for'. With 12 sumptuous goodies ( see numbered list) I was spoilt for choice and with a wide range of genres encompassing skincare, nails, beauty and wellbeing there was something for my every summer-based need. I was quite shocked at how versatile the box was, expecting it to be made up of mini samples that I would use once or would be used up straight away. It was not the case and out of the 12 gifts, only three were samples; Kerastase, Minty Coco and Bliss Eye Gel. That being said all three samples were just enough to entice my appetite and whilst Kerastase was a bare minimum handful, the eye gel lasted me a good few weeks, giving my poor eyes the desperate lift that they needed. As someone who is an insomniac my eyes are always bloodshot, swollen with fatigue and with dark shadows in need of eradication but I had never found a serum to actually give my eyes the energy that they needed. Bliss is a powerhouse through and through and if a small sample can give my eyes that extra oomph again then imagine what the full size cream could do?

Bliss might have given my eyes the extra shine and allure that it needed to keep up with long summer nights but my teeth were still as yellow as the day I was born. I have always had naturally yellow teeth and I have hated it, as many see it as a mark of you having an unhealthy smile. I used to clam up in photos, all too aware that my teeth did not fit the Hollywood mould of the perfect dazzling smile. I still am to an extent conscious of my teeth, I edit photos to make my teeth look white but I wish I didn't have to. Which is why I was excited to see Minty Coco samples as I have heard a lot about the brand from other bloggers. Sadly I was a little disappointed, I saw no results and my teeth remained yellow... not quite the gleaming Hollywood smile I had imagined. Still I know these things take time so I am not ready to write off Minty Coco just yet! I have many bugbears when it comes to the way I look and it has given me poor self-esteem; from bumpy, spotty combination skin to scars on my cheeks and forehead, there is a lot more to my face than what 'photos' suggest. Its very easy to manipulate and forge your version of reality, creating the perfect version of yourself that you wished you looked like. But in the real world it is harder to fake which is why I have been getting back into my beauty routine once again.

I had a hiatus for a few months as I was getting sick again and I had no energy to even take my makeup off, which of course is incredibly bad for you. So at a blogger event I discovered miscellar water and I have been hooked ever since. Gentle on the skin, it was the perfect way of making sure that my skin was clean when removing make up. I was using wipes before and considering my skin is so sensitive that was definitely a bad move on my part, due to the amount of chemicals wipes have. Miscellar water however is kind and gentle on skin like mine and the amount of dirt you can remove as opposed to using a gazillion wipes to rub off makeup is pretty incredible. Within a few weeks of using it my skin looked brighter and clearer although there was still a lot of work that needed to be done. When my bottle had run out I was sad because I was back to using wipes again and I had no energy after 14 hour work days to get more. So imagine my delight as my summer became complete with TTH's generous gift of Miscellar water from none other than Elemis. When I have spa treatments, the lotions and potions used are often certified by Elemis so I knew I was onto to a winner with this beauty. And I was right, it burned slightly at first but most miscellar waters do. By day 7 though my skin had got used to its formula and the redness and irritated skin around my T-zone had visibly reduced dramatically.

My skin was feeling fresh but my limbs still ached from hours of hard, strenuous work and as someone who has a chronic back condition ( Scoliosis, Hyper-mobile Joints, dislocated right deltoid) I love nothing better than relaxing in the bath with some soothing bath bombs and melts to alleviate my chronic pain. Having been a fan of Prezzybox before I became a blogger, it was nice to review some more of their products and their 'Cocktail Party' was certainly a big hit in the bathroom. Featuring their signature 'egg box' packaging each bath melt was swathed in a generous cocktail scent. From the Strawberry Daquiri which transported me back to poolside drinks to the fruity sensation that is Pina Colada each bath melt made my joints feel alive again and in the mood for a serious 'fiesta'. All jokes aside the bath melts were definitely my favourite TTH treat and if any of the boxes gifts personified summer, none of them could do it better than the humble Prezzybox.
