Franki & Baker: Embracing Serenity

In a pool of blue lies a trove of jewels, glistening with the weight of precious metals. All is calm and all is clear, no disturbance save for the gentle whir of waves lapping a'shore. Bringing back the bounty that the 'sea god' gifted them, the sea nymphs swim through the waves, slippery like dolphins bringing back the seas secrets for humanity to share. The humans feast on the jewellery with ill disguised hunger; never before did they see such precious jewels cast before them, radiant and serene. There is a little chill in the air as the humans huddle around the trove of jewels but they don't seem to mind. Bathed in a soft pastel glow the jewels glint materialistically, showy enough to make an impact but understated enough to remain classy. They seem to glow with unspoken words, humming with a clear sense of serenity. Even in the chaos of the human world , the jewels remain unfazed, sleeping quietly as the world collapses around it. The humans take notes, try to replicate its serene beauty but their formula is all wrong. Their jewels are too impure, too mass-produced and not raw; their jewels reek of soulless production, too focused on the hum and drum of capitalism. No Franki & Baker's jewels are different, pure, clean, raw. The Sea God chose the jewels well but still humans sought to perfect the innovative recipe of Franki & Baker's serene jewels... they failed.

In the sea of Franki's jewels lay a bracelet that was different from the rest. It was colourful but minimalist, a statement but an understated one at that. In short it was perfect; the humans gasped and cooed over the serene energy, the aura that was pulsating through the 'Faceted Pink, Blue & Purple Crystals'. Linked to a sterling silver chain, the faceted crystals had the delicacy of a fondant fancy without the guilt of eating one. One human stepped forward, feeling a magnetic connection between her and the jewels, reached out to touch it. Quickly she withdrew her hands, worried that the impurity of her human touch could mark these serene jewels with human chaos. Instead she spoke to it with her eyes, the only part of her that was honest and unfiltered. The jewels seemed to understand, caressed her with their serene touch. The connection was stronger now, she could feel the crystals whispering her name. They told her she could hold them, they were hers now, she possessed them, she was their master. But still she was cautious, unsure how she, a young girl, could ever harness the serene energy of these precious jewels.

Winter came and went, spring burst through the cracks of brittle ice and summer arrived on a pink flamingo float. But nothing could have prepared the humans for autumn, where the bright colours faded into pumpkin and the leaves littered the streets. As summer drew to a close the humans forgot about the jewels and locked it away in their imaginary 'mind boxes'. But the girl remembered, she would never abandon them, they were a part of her like nothing else she had owned. They were a friend in time of need, a friend to hold close, therapy if you will. As the humans pillaged the towns and looted the homes of the vulnerable the girl remained steadfast, practicing the serenity that the jewels had taught her so she could show society how to behave again. She wanted to lead by example and teach them that to be serene is to be mindful and to be mindful is to be at peace. She had not known the meaning of pure unadulterated peace until her serene jewels taught her to get lost in the moment. She wanted to show the world now that winter was coming to not resort to crime and violence like her people had so often done but instead to welcome peace, welcome serenity. It was going to be a long mission but the girl had every confidence that her mission would be successful.
